Hey there, friend,
I had an idea today.
I’m coining it “Burnout Trauma.”
It’s exactly what it sounds like: trauma sourced from episodes of burnout.
I’m not a doctor, so I obviously don’t know if this is a medical experience, but it does feel lived.
Basically, it comes down to this: I am avoidant of anything that reminds me of the things that I attribute to my burnout, such as:
Networking
Meetings
Invoicing
Critical Thinking (not even joking)
LinkedIn/Social Media
Canva
Filming Videos
(And yes, I used two colons in that sentence.)
Basically, running a business.
I avoid these experiences because I’m scared of burning out again.
There’s no other way to say it.
As for what I’m doing about it, I don’t have those answers yet.
I just wanted to put the term out there to see if others can relate in their own way, aka you.
Do you feel like you’ve experienced burnout trauma before and/or currently?
Let me know,
Atlas
