Live Example: Taking A Break For 1 Week!
🔥 Ending July on a strong note.
Hey there, friend,
For as much as I talk about how important taking breaks are, I can’t actually remember the last break I took from writing.
Yes, I know, I haven’t posted anything in two days, but that’s different.
Losing track of time or being too overtired to write is not “taking a break.”
Taking a break is intentional.
Taking a break is a compromise (usually).
Taking a break ends at some point.
Resting, and needing rest, will never end.
So don’t even try to chop up my rest days as “taking a break.”
No, this is taking a break:
I will be taking a break from posting The Daily Divergent for 1 week.
Can I be honest for a sec?
I’ve been really overwhelmed lately.
I mean, I wrote about burnout creeping up on me recently, and it seems that that burnout is only spiraling.
Spiraling downwards, might I add.
So I’m putting a pause on my life!
I’m not writing any blog posts, any newsletters, and not visiting any friends.
I’m not going to prioritize anything or anybody but myself, because goddammit, I need it.
Unfortunately, I cannot take a whole week off from work at this time, but I have already started the conversation about changing up my schedule once again to keep it fresh for me.
What I will be doing is spending lots of time…
outside!
dreaming
crocheting
doodling
journaling
making cards
baking
DIYing clothes
making cardboard furniture
and so much more I can’t even think of right now.
The truth is, I will mostly be planning.
I know that’s not as fun and sexy as spending a week doing absolutely nothing, but the reality is is that I care about this newsletter a lot.
It’s just not where I want it to be.
Or what I want it to be.
So I need to spend a lot of time dreaming about what it could be…
And then get back to you :)
Thank you in advance for being so gracious with me during this transitional period in my life.
I’m so excited to come back to you, full of ideas for the future!
x, Atlas
