What Stops You From Doing
🔥 And me, too, of course.
Hey there, friend,
Another newsletter meant as just for me as it is for you.
Funny that we find ourselves here after every missed newsletter, huh?
Well, that’s what prompted today’s idea anyways.
What Stops You From Doing
We all don’t want to “do” every single day—that’s normal human behavior.
But what changes for neurodivergent people might surprise you.
The normal stops for people are:
fear of failure & judgment
perfectionism
low self-esteem
overwhelm and anxiety
lack of purpose or motivation
procrastination
lack of momentum
distractions
limiting beliefs
lack of resources
family and social obligations
And while neurodivergent people definitely overlap with all of these barriers, naturally, we take things one step further.
Neurodivergent people are commonly stopped by:
emotional dysregulation
chronic dissociation
toxic or abusive environments
inability to focus on anything but survival
hygiene, clothing, and living situations
burnout or burnout signals
decision fatigue or real chronic fatigue
And many, many more symptoms.
What stopped me, if you’re curious, is burnout.
Or the signals, at least.
Here’s to resting more, for now.
x, Atlas
