Hey there, human,

To my autistic ass, there’s not much worse in the world than inconsistency.

Despite knowing the world is mostly uncontrolled chaos, there’s one area of life I’ve encountered this chaos more than anywhere: shopping for women’s jeans.

And that infuriates me.

So let’s talk about it!

Coping Mechanisms Are Like Women’s Jeans

If you’ve never shopped for women’s jeans—good. Keep it that way.

Because it’s a total fucking nightmare.

Shopping for women’s jeans is harder than navigating conversations with new people; at least people are somewhat consistent.

Does that mean “shopping” for coping mechanisms is just as nightmarish?

Well, yeah.

Especially in the beginning.

Allow me to explain.

1. You’re not the same size everywhere (or every day).

Just because you’re a size 16 at one store does not mean you’re a size 16 everywhere else.

Similarly, just because you can meditate at home just fine doesn’t mean you can meditate as easily in the middle of a mall.
