A common complaint I hear from ADHDers is how often they forget things.
To me, this seems like an obvious disadvantage; basically, it comes with the territory.
In all unempathetic honesty, it’s a sign that those people haven’t fully accepted themselves yet.
I understand that there are things about emotional expression I don’t understand, though.
This is where the autism comes into play, where logic and reasoning far outweigh emotion in my mind.
“If you struggle with something,” my autism tells me, “then you haven’t fully accepted the reality.”
And while I still think that’s true, I know there are deeper levels here that I need to dig into.
So let’s dig into them.
It’s Never One And Done
If I had to sum up what life feels like to me in one analogy, I’d say it’s like a spiral staircase.
